How to set up your chinstrap

Watch the instruction video and follow the images below. You can do it while wearing the hat or off in front of you. Whichever is easiest for you.

The test to see if it's set correctly - you should be able to easily fit a finger between webbing and your neck, now try to pull the hat backwards to see if it comes off. If not, it's a good fit. If it does come off you need to move it forward.

Setting up your hat is a one off exercise, like a bike helmet, do it once and then never again.

  • Step 1 - Loosen

With the webbing seam facing out, pull the top loop of the cord up. This will loosen the knot and allow the cord to move.

  • Step 2 - Move

Now the knot is loose, slide the cord through the ring. To move forward, lengthen the rear cord and shorten the front. To go back, lengthen the front cord and shorten the back. Little movements for small adjustments, bigger for bigger adjustment

  • Step 3 - Tighten

To lock, pull down on the webbing, this will tighten the knot. You can pull the cord in the opposite direction to make it extra tight. The knot is now locked. It won't move until it's loosened again via step 1.
